PSL 2021 Match 18 (Islamabad United vs Quetta Gladiators)
Islamabad United’s Kiwi opener Colin Munro outplayed Quetta Gladiators bowlers in the Pakistan Super League on Friday. In his cyclone innings, Islamabad scored 137 runs in just 10 overs and won by 10 wickets.
The result was almost decided in the match’s first innings at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Because the innings of Gladiators was stopped at 133 runs in 20 overs. However, no one might think that Islamabad would win the match so fast in the second innings.
After losing the toss and opting to bat first, the Gladiators’ team collection crossed 100 mainly because of Jack Weatherald 43 runs of 35 balls from his bat. Although Azam Khan scored 26 runs from 23 balls, Andre Russell was hit in the head by a bouncer in the 11th over of the innings. As a result, he fell into a concussion and could not get down to the field again. Mohammad Wasim, Hasan Ali, and Mohammad Musa took 2 wickets each for United.
United’s two left-arm openers Munro and Khawaja ended the match in an unbroken partnership in response to the Gladiators’ 133 runs. Colin Munro made 90 runs off just 36 balls with the bat in hand scored two and a half runs a ball he played. Munro hit 12 fours and 5 sixes in the cyclone innings. This means he had scored 80 percent runs from the boundary only. On the other hand, Khawaja was unbeaten on 40 off 27 balls with 6 fours and 1 six.
After winning this match, Islamabad United has risen to the 3rd position in the points table and the Quetta Gladiators are at the bottom of the points table after being defeated.

ENG vs NZ (2nd Test – Day 2)
England started the second day with 258 runs for 7 wickets. From there, the hosts somehow crossed the 300-mark and go all out. New Zealand is giving a strong reply to that. Tom Latham’s side is in a good position in the Birmingham Test.
Daniel Lawrence came down to bat on individual 67 runs and fought till the end of the English innings. He was unbeaten on 81 runs. Mark Wood came down with 16 runs and went on scoring 41 runs at the end. England was bowled out for 303 in 101 overs. Trent Boult was the most successful bowler for New Zealand. The pacer took 4 wickets giving away 85 runs. Matt Henry picked up 3 wickets for the Kiwis.
The Kiwis lost captain Tom Latham (6) staring the first innings. However, Devon Conway, who made his debut in the previous match, stood tall with the bat. Conway made a 122-run stand with Will Young in the second wicket. Again, there was a chance for him to touch three figures. But he fell victim to Stuart Broad for 80 runs.
But Young scored 82 runs, fell victim to Lawrence, and went back to the dressing room at the end of the day. However, Taylor is unbeaten on 46 runs. New Zealand finished the second day with 229 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, 74 runs behind the hosts.
