In the end, Vijay Shankar took the helm but the triumph remained elusive to the SRH because of the failure of others. Trent Bolt and Rahul Chahar took a maximum of 3 wickets each for Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians is at the top of the points table after winning this match and Sunrisers Hyderabad is at the bottom of the points table with their third defeat in a row.
