The 3rd match of the ODI series between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka rolled on the field yesterday. Let’s have a look at the article to know about the exciting moments of the game.

BAN vs SL (3rd ODI)

Sri Lanka won the last ODI of the 3-match series by 97 runs against Bangladesh. After winning the first two matches of the series, Bangladesh has won the series against Sri Lanka for the first time.

Danushka Gunathilaka and skipper Kusal Perera formed a pair of 82 runs after winning the toss and opting to bat first at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur Friday. Taskin broke the tie by taking the wicket of Gunathilaka, who scored 39 runs off 33 balls. After 3 balls, he picked up Pathum Nissanka (0). Then Kusal Mendis came to the wicket. Later, the third-wicket pair of 69 runs were given as a gift by the two Kusals. When Kusal Mendis (22) returned to the dressing room, Dhananjaya de Silva came on the wicket. In the end, Kusal Perera’s century (120) and Dhananjaya de Silva’s fifty (55) helped Sri Lanka to get a challenging score of 286 for six. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed was the most successful for Bangladesh (4-46, 9 overs).

Coming down to chase a big target of 287 runs, Bangladesh lost 3 wickets to score 28 runs in the aggressive bowling of Dushmantha Chameera. Then Mushfiqur Rahim, the hero of Bangladesh’s first two matches, came to the wicket. But he also could not do well yesterday. Mushfiqur returned to the dressing room with 28 runs off 54 balls and the team’s total was 84 runs then. After Mushfiqur’s departure, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat (51) and Mahmudullah Riyad (53) showed the hosts the dream of winning again. But the Sri Lankans ‘ furious bowling didn’t let that happen and Bangladesh was bowled out for 189 runs in 42.3 overs. Dushmantha Chameera (5-16, 9 overs) was the highest wicket-taker for Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh could not get the full 30 points from the series because of this debacle. On the other hand, Sri Lanka opened the book of scoring in the sixth match of the World Cup Super League. They now have 8 points after losing 2 points due to a slow over-rate in the previous series.
