India to play against Sri Lanka in July, a completely different side will be seen

India will tour Sri Lanka next July, and will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is in the tour. The tour will be part of the ICC’s Future Tour program. Indian Cricket Board chief Sourav Ganguly said this.

The Indian cricket team is set to leave for England on June 2. Virat Kohli’s side will face New Zealand in the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2019-21 in Southampton. The match will be played from 18 to 22 June. India has more games in England after this match. There is a 5-match Test series against the hosts, England. The team’s journey will start with the ICC Test Championship final and end with the bilateral Test series.

It was expected that the Indian team would spend the time between the final match of the Test Championship 2019-21 and the 5-match Test series against England in England. It was thought that India would do so to avoid quarantine trouble. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly disclosed that India will go to Sri Lanka with a different squad.

He said that a different Indian team will play in the limited-overs series in Sri Lanka, which will not feature regular players from the Test team and there will be some changes in coaches and other support staff. Meanwhile, it has been reported that Rahul Dravid is going to take charge of India’s head coach in Sri Lanka. Even bowling coaches and batting coaches will change in Sri Lanka. All in all, the Indian team will set its feet in Sri Lanka with a completely different national team.

Meanwhile, Ganguly has said that the postponed IPL is unlikely to be held on English soil. He said, “There is no possibility of hosting the IPL in England. India will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20s in Sri Lanka. Quarantine has to be done everywhere in difficult situations. That is why we have to find a suitable time to finish the IPL.”

However, India will come to the field with two different national teams at the same time for the second time. Cricket was included in the Commonwealth Games-1998 for the first time (was the last time as well). At that time, the Indian Cricket Board sent a separate team to the Commonwealth Games while another team featuring Azharuddin and Tendulkar was playing against Pakistan in the Sahara Cup in Canada.
